I want someone that is passionate!
The way employers and HR managers fuss about passion can be really annoying sometimes.
Some months ago, I received a message from someone that wanted me to create questions and answers on a specific subject.
As the conversation progressed, the next thing I heard was:
“Are you passionate about creating questions and answers?”
I laughed when I saw this. “Is anyone passionate about creating questions and answers?” 😃
Some employers and clients are bent on hiring people that are passionate about the job. Sometimes, these people don’t exist 🤣
Well, don’t get me wrong, it is good to hire passionate people. That is not all that matters.
At the end of the day, you want someone that will do the job excellently. Passionate or not (lol).
Please, let us learn to make things easy. The basic truth is that employers need the job to get done, employees want to be well-compensated. PERIOD.

It is this same passion talk that makes job candidates lie during the interview.
Yea, because employers don’t like to hear the truth, they want to hear what makes them feel happy.
Job candidates have mastered the tricks of telling employers exactly what they want to hear (true or not).
You would hear answers like:
“I want to join this company because I am passionate about what you do, in fact, I have been following …”
Haha ha, stop falling for this. Check if they have the capacity to do the job.
Well, some might be sincerely passionate, but many are not. Just focus on what is important; THE JOB THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.
The whole job search thing has become a game because of PASSION.😜
Please, let us normalize people working for money. Different things motivate different people. Allow people to own their narrative.
So far the job is done excellently well.
Let us normalize working for MONEY. After all, it is called WORK for a reason. 🤔
Let us stop making it look like it is bad to work for money.
If you don’t get paid at the end of the month or at the end of a contract, I doubt you would pitch your tent in that company or with that client.
It is okay if money motivates you.
Always make sure that whatever your hand finds to do, you do it exceptionally well 👌
